Spirit Groove

Spirit Groove will be right back!

Spirit Groove is taking a month off. June is traditionally a month where we take a break from planning our events to plan the overall direction of Spirit Groove...and we already have a lot in store for you starting in July.

As many of you know, Spirit Groove is about to undergo a transformation. In addition to moving our monthly event to a new location, a new date and into a new time slot, we will be updating our look and approach...but just a little bit. You can start to see some of this in our new logo.

So that means that it's time for our web site (which, incidentally, has served us well for five years) to be updated as well. This will be completed by the end of June. That's why we have this page up here now. The site isn't gone (you can still continue on to the site), but we wanted to alert everyone as to what is happening.

We want to give a special shout out to everyone who has helped us over the past five years with your verbal, prayerful, financial and moral support.

Finally, to those who are massively confused as to just what this Spirit Groove thing is, here's the Cliffs Notes version: Spirit Groove is a monthly event held on the fourth Saturday of each month in Deep Ellum and features live music from a house band or DJ, special musical guests that cover a wide variety of musical stylings and a spoken word segment like nothing you've ever seen. Plus, we usually have an open mic, free food and a whole host of other random things. An event that truly defies all attempts at description and classification (believe us, we've been trying!), for only $7.

So, remember, the next event will be held in:

LATE JULY 2005
(Exact date coming soon!)

If you want to be the first on your block to hear the latest updates about Spirit Groove (including when we launch the new web site, when new events are coming up), you can sign up for our low-volume mailing list by sending an e-mail to info@spiritgroove.com.
